I love saving money. So whenever I get a coupon to A.C. Moore or Michaels I usually stop in and see what I can find. I must admit, my craft stockpile of craft items is starting to get out of control, but I seem to keep buying. (oops can't help it)
On my recent visit to A.C. Moore found these frames for under a dollar--what!? For that price, I knew I could come up with something.
I knew I wanted transform the frame into a sign. So I started searching my supplies and here is what I came up with. I am really into chalkboard paint right now. I have seen it all over Pinterest and have fallen for it hard. So here it began--add aqua paint and there you have it! A DIY sign for around a dollar.
This is a picture after one coat of chalkboard paint. To complete the project I used aroud 5 coats of paint. There was a lot of painting. waiting. painting and waiting. Note: I probably should have taped the two sections off in order to keep it neat--I didn't. That's what touch up is for :)
Little Seany supervised. Hi Seany.
And here it is finished. I plan on using it for our month-to-month photos for Sean. I also love to send photos of the kids for birthdays and such using a sign that I draw with paper--now I can use my new sign. Have you made any great makeovers? I would love to see your transformations. Please share!
