obsessed with chevron

I don't know about you, but I am loving (like borderline obsessed) with chevron. I keep seeing it all over Pinterest and now I want it all over my house. Last night I decided I would try my first attempt and I must say it didn't come out horrible. Here is what I did.

I bought these canvas' at AC Moore the other day. Price= 2/$8. (plus a coupon)

Next I applied the tape. I saw a lot of ladies using painter's tape on-line, but I didn't have that so I used masking tape instead. Worked like a charm.

After I was done taping, I smoothed all the tape with my debit card to make sure paint wouldn't sneak through. After that it was time to paint. In addition to loving chevron, I am also loving this color. I bought it when it was on sale at AC Moore last week. They were only 2/$1. What a bargain!

This was the worst part--waiting for the paint to dry. Good thing I needed to catch up on some shows (have you seen GCB yet? That show cracks me up) After a few minutes I noticed some spots needed a second coat, so I just applied a second coat to the entire canvas. Here is what it looked like with the tape still on.

And here is the final project. I don't have a home for him yet, but I am sure I will find a fab place for him shortly. What do you think? Are you loving chevron like I am? Any good DIY projects you have done with the pattern?
